GROUND RULES

My classes are mostly  small group with a lot of one on one work/attention during instruction or practice. My classroom policies reflect the Sabine ISD handbook and the standards set in it. There will be no cellphone use (or air pods) AT ANY TIME within the middle school walls, at this age and in this generation it is crucial for kids to unplug and communicate with their peers, instructors, and administration. Phones need to be off and put away in either their locker or bag, if you or your student need to contact one another please call the office or they will call you from the office. I have an open door policy if you or your child ever need to talk or have any questions about my classroom. Cant wait for a great year, Go Cardinals!!

DEADLINES

Deadlines in my classroom will be flexible depending on if the student is absent or if they need to spend more time working to understand the content that has been given to them. Students will not receive homework from my classroom since it is an additional math class I don't want to give them an even larger workload then what they have already.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attendance is very important for the students in my classroom, especially since I don't assign homework. I make this a point because if they are not here then they can not be working to fill the gap and get back to taking fun electives! Sabine middle school has implemented a Final Exam Exemptions policy, but this requires limited absences and the students must be passing all classes to qualify for exemption.

Tests, Assessments, and Assignments

For my individual classes there will be NO unit tests or formal assessments. However my students will be graded on their day to day effort that is put into the classroom and tasks they've been given.  The students will continue to have tests, quizzes, midterms and finals in all other core classes.
